PURPOSE:To attain the reduction in cost by translating character data into intermediate language information while referring to language ROM with a translating circuit, converting it into subdata with a data processor, synthesizing it with video data supplied from a video circuit with a synthesizing circuit and digitally recording it on a magnetic tape with a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A data processor 17 processes subdata inputted from a switch 22, separates intermedium language information included in it and outputs it to the translating circuit 15 at the time of a reproduction mode. The data processor 17 converts intermediate language information supplied from the translating circuit 15 into subdata and outputs it to the synthesizing circuit 18 at the time of a recording mode. The translating circuit 15 translates intermediate language information inputted from the data processor 17 into prescribed language information by referring to the storage contents of language ROM 16 and outputs it to a character generator at the time of the reproduction mode. The translating circuit 15 translates character data from an input terminal 14 into intermediate language information by referring to the storage contents of language ROM 16 and outputs it at the time of the recording mode. |
