PURPOSE:To obtain an identification function capable of discriminating highly precisely a confidential original while development labor is reduced. CONSTITUTION:The red component (R) of color picture data obtained by reading it from an original by a CCD image sensor 8 is inputted, and after binarizing it by a binarization circuit 15, it is pattern-recognition-processed by a character identification circuit 17. In the circuit 17, pattern recognition is executed by bit quantities in the vertical and the horizontal directions of the red component inputted based on the decision standard of a neural net based on a learning function, and when coincidence between the pattern of the red component and a standard pattern learnt by the neural net is obtained, the display of a message to mean the inhibition of copying is instructed by a CPU 18. On the other hand, when the coincidence is not obtained, copying operation is instructed. |
