PURPOSE:To provide the cordless telephone set capable monitoring not only the room installed with a master set but also the room installed with each slave set. CONSTITUTION:This cordless telephone set consists of a master set 1 and one or more slave sets, and is provided with room monitor function monitoring a room based on a PB signal from an external line, and the monitor function is provided with a PB signal detection circuit 24 discriminating a PB signal from an external line and with a central control circuit 19 which sends a signal used to bring a specific slave set only into the monitor state to relevant slave set when the PB signal indicates only the specific slave set based on the result of discrimination by the PB signal detection circuit, sends sequentially a signal used to bring plural slave sets sequentially into the monitor state to the plural slave sets when the PB signal indicates plural slave sets, and sends a signal used to bring all slave sets simultaneously to all the slave sets when the PB signal depicts all the slave sets.
