The invention relates to a device facilitating effective brushing of the teeth. It consists of two tubes, one inserted in the other, the inner tube (3) containing a mechanism (11) for receiving and rigidly holding the handle of a toothbrush (9), the inner tube (3) being free of the cyclic movement in the outer tube (1) which contains a counter (10) which counts the number of cyclic movements and, after a predetermined number, emits an audible signal. The device permits effective and comfortable brushing of the teeth by converting a horizontal movement into a cyclic movement. <IMAGE>
