The invention relates to a time-based multiplexing or demultiplexing component comprising an acoustic-wave conducting material, the original characteristic of which is of having a surface of parabolic shape, transducers spaced away from the axis of the parabola and an electroacoustic transducer placed at the focus of the parabola. This component makes it possible to generate variable delays in terms of information flowing in such a component, and to do so as a function of the spacing of the various transducers with respect to the axis of the parabola.
