摘要 PURPOSE:To manage up and down VPIs in 1:1 correspondence in the virtual path 1:N distribution system of ATM communication by providing VPI conversion nodes and converting VPIs of cells transferred from plural slave stations to a master sation to a single VPI to synthesize them. CONSTITUTION:VPI conversion nodes 31 to 32 are provided between a master station 1 and plural slave stations 21 to 23. VPI cells from the master station 1 are distributed to each slave station as the same information by distribution processing parts 41 and 42 of VPI conversion nodes 31 and 32. Cells transmitted from respective slave stations to the master station are converted to values of the same VPI and are synthesized by synthesis processing parts 51 and 52 of VPI conversion nodes. Thus, cells from plural slave stations are transferred to the master station as cells of one VPI, and they are transferred by one logical channel, and therefore, VPI management of up cells is performed in 1:1 correspondence in the same manner as down cells.
