The invention relates to metal covering sections for wooden window frames and to a system for fixing them. It involves the combination, on the one hand of an aluminium section (1) which can be cut down to fit the width of the wooden frames, by virtue of the fact that there are two grooves provided for receiving a pile draught-excluder seal (7) and, on the other hand, of fixing pins screwed into the wooden elements (14), these pins being provided with tabs (12) for positioning the section, the latter being snap-fitted in place by means of two flexible lateral elements on the said pins which engage in a slideway in the section provided for this purpose, the fixing pins being of two types: one for corners and one for straight sections (2). The invention applies to making window frames for the construction industry, and is applicable both to new structures and to the restoration of old structures. <IMAGE>
