PURPOSE:To improve a fog, a storage stability and an intensification of a picture image by incorporating at least one of a specific compd. or its oxidant and at least one of another specific compd. to the titled emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The titled emulsion contains the compd. shown by formula I (wherein Z is an aromatic group) and the compd. shown by formula II or III (wherein R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic or an aromatic residue, at least one of R1 and R2 groups is an aryl or an alkyl group, the total of carbon numbers of R1 and R2 groups is 3-8, (n) is 1 or 2). An intensifying pigment comprises a betaine or an anionic cyan intensifying pigment and is a compd. shown by the formula IV. The compounding amount of the compd. I is 0.001-0.5mol on the basis of 1mol of silver halide. The compounding amount of the compd. II or III is 10<-4>-10<-1>mol on the basis of 1mol of silver halide, and the compounding period is an optional one after desalting. The compounding amount of the prescribed compd. IV is 10<-6>-10<-5>mol on the basis of 1mol of silver halide. |
