<p>Systems (20) for containing fluids and for both containing a fluid and then evacuating the contained fluid to a point of treatment or disposal. These systems (20) have a fluid containment boom (22) and a pump (26) for creating a vacuum in the boom (22) and compressing a gasket on the lower side of the boom (22) against a surface (36) on which the boom (22) is placed to lock the boom (22) in place and form a barrier against fluid on the surface (36). The gasket (46) may be made of a permeable material in which case the contained fluid can be evacuated from the surface (36) through the boom.</p> |
