Colour television signal transmission system - uses quadrature-modulated carrier for transmitting light density and sequential colour signals

The colour television signal transmission system uses quadrature modulation of a carrier signal (T) for transmission of the light signal (T) for transmission of the light density signal (Y) and the sequential colour signals, with frequency modulation of a further carrier used for recording the quadrature modulated carrier. Pref. the colour television signal is fed to a separation stage (1) dividing it into a light density signal (Y) and a colour mode signal (C), and fed to a demodulator (2) for providing the colour difference signals (R-Y,B-Y). The latter are fed to the quadrature modulator (3) together with the light density signal (Y). The quadrature modulated carrier (T) is fed to a FM modulator (4) before recording.
