摘要 To form a lower winding of yarn at a spinning or twisting spindle, where the yarn is coiled round a surface at the upper section of the spindle, the upper section of the spindle is rotated while the lower winding is formed but is stationary during the spinning or twisting operation. Pref. in appts. the unit to lock the bobbin sleeve to the upper section of the spindle, and the unit to release it are switched in and out of action as required, by a mobile maintenance unit brought to the workstation. The lock and release are at a number of spindles and can be connected to a control. The bobbin sleeve has at least one peripheral friction surface which can be brought against a counter surface at the upper section of the spindle. The friction surfaces are at the inner surface of the bobbin sleeve, conically to the spindle axis, or they are on the mantle surface of the sleeve. The sleeve is locked to the upper spindle section through its friction surfaces by an axial sliding movement, or a radial sliding action. The bobbin sleeve is locked to or released from the upper spindle section by the movement and friction surface system. ADVANTAGE - The lower yarn winding is formed by a simple mechanism, to ensure that the end of the supply yarn is held in place during doffing, and does not become detached from the ring traveller.
