The angle sensor with an angle range greater than 360 deg. contains a flexible spiral (3) between a stator (2) and the rotatable measurement part (1). The spiral encloses the rotation axis and is connected to the rotatable part at its ends. A coating on the spiral or the spiral itself and an applied coating form a capacitor which varies as the part rotates about the rotation axis. Two spirals offset in the axial direction and rotating in opposite directions can be used with a differential amplifier to evaluate the capacitance values.
