Use of peptide fraction obtd. from organs rich in reticuloendothelial cells - for promoting weight gain in treatment of cancer and microbial infection

The use of a peptide fraction (A), isolated from organs of high reticuloendothelial system (RES) content, for treating metabolic disorders associated with weight loss is new. (A) is produced by enzymatic proteolysis of organs rich in RES, then gel-chromatographic isolation of the active fraction (see DE 3827490). USE/ADVANTAGE - (A) increases appetite and wt. gain in patients with cancer, AIDS or severe infections. It significantly improves the quality of life and improves side effects caused by anticancer treatments. (A) is free of side effects.
