Multi-segment mirror mfr. for reflecting telescope - involves development of matrix representing test point relationships to re-grouped expansion vector components denoting segment positions
摘要
The 37 segments (2) of the mirror (1) are assembled together in positions represented by the components of a thermal expansion vector selected from a set whose relationship to the shifts of a number of test points is expressed by a matrix of 37 columns. The elements of each column signify the deviation from the average value of the thermal expansion numbers of the segments (2). The selection minimises the sum of the squares of shifts obtd. by regrouping. ADVANTAGE - Residual thermal deformation after correction for thermal expansion is minimised.
