An alarm circuit (A) in the form of a pluggable computer card is linked by a cable (VK) to a distributor (B) comprising a message block (1), two power units (3,4) and a visual or audible alarm moulding (2) interfaced (5) to the cable (VK). The card carries an encoder (6), an input/output circuit (7), a meassage system (8), a control circuit (9) and an alarm unit (10). Separate message lines serve for distinctive warnings of sabotage, attack, and open-door situations. ADVANTAGE - Most costly and vulnurable part of system is protected by incorporation into computer without special security circuits.
