The drive line gives high environmental protection, with an electric machine connectable with the traction current mains e.g. overhead line and/or an electrochemical component. An IC engine is driven by compressed natural gas and/or hydrogen, as well as in the case of the electric machine, units for the regeneration of the braking energy needed during the mountain descent. Two driven axles (4,5) are provided with the smallest possible axle spacing. A towbar (6) is jointed to it with a neutral wt. and quick acting connection arrangements (7,8) for the electric, pneumatic or hydraulic power supply for the towed goods vehicle (2). ADVANTAGE - Gives highest possible environmental protection esp. for pass regions involving mountain climbing and descent using auxiliary transport means other than railway.
