The instrument injects a metered amt. of prepd. liq., having a housing forming a phial or ampoule, a folding bellows to which a displacing pistion is joined, and a detachable injection component. The bellows is part of the ampoule and extends for only part of its length. The remainder of the ampoule has scale markings, with which the bellows works to give exact metering, controlled pressure or suction being exerted by the piston on the liq. The piston can be moved inside the scaled portion, and it can pivot on the bellows, to which it is sealed, without forming a sealing joint with the housing. ADVANTAGE - Precision, and allows suction to show if a blood vessel has been encountered.
