The press has a drive consisting of a speed controllable electric motor (20), a clutch-brake combination (27), a flywheel and two sets of successive planetary gears in a casing (14). The casing is flanged on the side wall of the press-support. A main press-ram of vertically mobile drive is generated by a toggle lever. The drive shaft (11) carries an eccentric hub (10) and a cam plate (34). The hub is in contact with an eccentric hoop (9) of the connecting rod (7), while a two-armed lever (37) operates between the cam plate and the ejector (38) of the blanks.
