The pupil position detection unit (4-7) is coupled to the microprocessor (1) and memory (2) via an interface (3). The microprocessor switches from a first to a second view point data, if following the detection of the first view point data by the positon detection unit. The detected second view point data in relation to the first deviates more than the predetermined normal value, and the time span between the detection of the first and the detection of the second view point data exceeds a predetermined time duration. The first view point data is determined as effective viw point data, if the deviation between the first and second view point data exceeds the determined normal value. A focus setting unit (8, 9) is provided for setting the focus of an image according to the first view point data. ADVANTAGE - Eye view point more precisely determined by jerking or very small movement.
