The method prevents the distortion of electron beam passage caused by the outer magnetic field. A ferrous powder layer (18) mixed with adhesive is coated on the outer face of the CRT funnel (11) and the carbon layer (8) is coated on the ferrous powder coated layer not to oxidise with outer oxygen. The ferrous powder can be replaced by the semi-magnetic material such as copper.
