The relay has a 2-part magnetic core (1) with at least 3 arms (3,5), and a U-shaped cross sectional armature (8) fitting between the latter. The core has 2 U-shaped yokes (2) with one arm (3) of each yoke passing through the centre of the relay coil (4) and the other arm (5) lying outside of the coil. A permanent magnet (6) is inserted between the inner arms (3) of both yokes with its north and south poles being respective arms. Pref. the permanent magnet comprises a flat plate which is magnetised perpendicular to its longitudinal axis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple assembly, suitable for both bistable and nonostable applications, small coil diameter.
