The single sheet feed system extracts sheets of paper from a magazine stack that locates on a hinged contact plate (18). The plate is biased upwards by a tension spring (19) and a cam (13) controls the movement relative to the feed transfer roller. For engagement of the feed roller with the top sheet in the stack, the cam must rotate through an arc to allow the spring to apply and lifting force. The motion is provided by the print contact roller (4) which is coupled to the cam via a gear train (5-8). ADVANTAGE - Provides reliable single sheet feed.
