Hybridoma cell lines are obtained by fusing spleen cells from mice immunised with recombinant human interferon c with myeloma cells. They produce monoclonal antibodies (MAb) which are specific for IFNc when this carries Gln in non-modified form at position 1. Also new is MAb G3E produced by the hybridoma cell line DSM ACC 2010. USE/ADVANTAGE - IFNc is an antiviral agent and also has antiproliferative and immunomodulating activity for treatment of cancer.
