The test device has a protrusion (11) onto which the object (12) is placed and which has a recess (14) on its outer wall of length corresponding to that of the object. The recess is sealed by sealing devices (16), the object is held on the protrusion by a mounting arrangement (22,20) and the recess is connected to a source of a pressurised medium. Sealing rings are located in annular slots formed in the ends of the protrusion. USE/ADVANTAGE - Rapid, simple and economical strength testing, especially for testing sintered components.
