A holding plate (8) is fixed to one or more roof rafters (9). A shaped section (22) which lies between two courses of tiles (5,6) is connected to this plate. The lower end (21) of this shaped section is hooked to hold and secure the rung of a ladder. The upper end (22b)of the shaped metal section lies under the holding plate (8) and there is a cranked section (22a) which passes through a hole in the holding plate. This plate lies on top of the rafters but underneath the purlins (2,3,4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Secure fixing for roof ladder on pitch roof with flat tiles.
