<p>Two basic laps (A) are connected e.g. by a needle loom (as used in the nonwovens industry) along longitudinal join lines (14) and by means of needle boards (10) moving back and forth (18). The laps are held apart by a table (2) with lamellae (22). An intermediate component (B and/or C) is inserted between the laps (A) and the longitudinal join lines (14) by means of channels (26) formed in the lamellae (22). The intermediate components are fluid or solid and the basic laps are identical or different fibrous components. A device is provided for producing composite laps which combine the qualities of disparate yet intimately bonded materials such as those used in insulating panels, sports mats, aircraft and shipbuilding industries, medical applications, filtering panels, etc.</p> |
