<p>The invention relates to a process for the preparation of optionally deuterated cis-inositol, meso-inositol, epi-inositol and/or cis-quercitol. This process consists in subjecting tetrahydroxybenzoquinone to catalytic hydrogenation, using a palladium-based catalyst, and in then recovering cis-inositol by separating the products obtained by chromatography on a cation-exchange resin, for example a resin in the Ca<2+> form. Preferably, there is used as catalyst, at the beginning of the reaction, palladium which has been reduced beforehand in a neutral medium.</p> |
