A system comprising an opening which is surrounded by a frame comprising bars and at least one beam, for example a window, pairs of suspension means which are arranged next to one another in columns in the horizontal direction, in such a manner that they can move, the suspension means of each pair being located at a different distance from the plane of the opening, part- surface elements which follow one another in the vertical direction and are connected to the suspension means of a column, all this in such a manner that the part-surface elements can move between a position in which they close off the column in groups and a position in which they release the column, thus making it possible to open or close parts of the opening.
