A moveable foliage-pulling device, in particular for removing the foliage from bulbous and tuberous plants, provided with a front and rear component, as seen in the direction of movement of the foliage-pulling device, which components extend in the transverse direction and can rotate at substantially the same speed. The rear rotatable component is a rubber roller, while the front rotatable component is formed by rods which extend helically around the axis of rotation. The rods of the front rotatable component and the rubber roller of the rear rotatable component together form a nip which is open towards the ground and has nip walls which move upwards in order to pull the foliage which is trapped between them off the bulbous or tuberous plant.
