It enhances the hourly production of the antibiotic.Description : the Streptomyces tenebrarius stamp (registered in National Bank for Industrial Micro organisms and Cellular Crops under No.841) is cultivated under conditions of regulable biosynthesis in a nutritious medium. 24 hours later, a limiting substrate is added in dosages. The substrate has the following composition (in %) : glucose (from 4.0 to 7.5), NH4Cl (0.25 - 0.30), carbamate (0.10 - 0.130), Ca-pantothenate (0.008 - 0.010), Na-glutamate (0.006 to 0.010), and KCl (0.008 to 0.12). These are mixed in a volume of 15 to 35% toward the cultural liquid so as to maintain a concentration of the glucose between 0.5 and 1.5%, and ammonium nitrogen - from 0.010 to 0.020% of the total volume.
