Process for monitoring the cathodic protection of a metal structure, for example an oil platform at sea, the process comprising the following stages: - installation of at least three metal plates on the metal structure, each plate being electrically insulated in relation to the other plates; - providing each of the metal plates respectively with a predetermined fraction of the cathodic protection applied to the metal structure; and - monitoring the degree of corrosion of each metal plate. A device for monitoring the cathodic protection of such a metal structure is also described. <IMAGE>
