The present invention relates to a mast-support base, particularly for a parasol mast, comprising: a bed plate structure (200), generally horizontal, and a tubular structure (500), generally vertical, designed to receive the lower end of the mast, characterised by the fact that the bed plate structure (200) comprises: at least one horizontal slideway (300, 310, 320, 330), and a horizontal bar (400, 410, 420, 430) forming a base, engaged in the slideway (300, 310, 320, 330) so that it can be moved, by horizontal translation, between a retracted position and a deployed position in which the horizontal bar (400, 410, 420, 430) forming a base projects on the outside of the bed plate structure (200) in order to increase the surface via which the latter bears on the ground. <IMAGE>
