Machine for grouping and tying up stackable objects such as bales of fodder or other material. The machine according to the invention, working at a fixed station, is composed of a chassis (1) mounted on wheels (2) and includes devices for transferring bales (4 and 6), for stacking and gripping (7) the latter, and for automatically tying up (13, 12, 17), in order to form a large bale. The package obtained is placed by an ejector (14) on to a table (15) in order to be picked up by a handling machine (see overall plan). <IMAGE>
