<p>Sealing soil formation, esp. sealing the base of dumps or encapsulating waste tips or dumps, is carried out by mixing clarified sewage or natural water-sludge with 30-70 (wt.)% water-absorbent aggregate, w.r.t. dry sludge, applying this mixt. to the soil formation and mechanical consolidation. Dried aggregate, pref. broken aggregate with high shear strength is used, esp. recycled sand, ash from power stations or refuse incinerators or ground blast furnace slag. The components are mixed until the mixt. is homogenous. Consolidation is carried out by static rolling of 20-25 cm deep layers, pref. to a Proktor density of 84%. The mixt. pref. also contains 1-2% powdered water glass and 0.5-1% Na aluminate as soft gel former.</p> |
