The lock has a spring lever (6) arranged on the outside of the chimney aperture cover (3) with displaceable locking ends. The spring lever has U-shaped arms, the end sections (8,9) of which are angled outwards at right angles and carry the locking ends (10). The U-shaped arms of the spring lever are formed as hand grips (7). The spring lever is located pivotably around the locking ends (10) forming pivot axes in the lateral recesses (14) of the chimney pipe (1). The locking ends (10) are spaced from the supporting arm sections (9,9). USE/ADVANTAGE - To maintain the cleaning door for chimneys fully locked and sealed, preventing outlet of aggressive flue gas.
