The equipment is partic. for injecting pharmaceutical solns. into human or animal bodies, having a gas-generation cell delivering oxygen or hydrogen at a rate determined by an electric current flowing through the cell. A piston divides a cylinder into a chamber accommodating the medium handled and one supplied with propellant gas by the cell. The propellant-gas chamber is connected to the outside by a valve, whose opening mechanism is operated by the piston thrust via a linear component before the piston reaches its end position. The electrical circuit can include a switch in the gas chamber and opened by the linear component. ADVANTAGE - Gas cannot flow past the piston via the needle and into the body.
