PURPOSE:To obtain the title ceramic low in resistivity, excellent in oxidation resistance and secured in mechanical strength, by incorporating silicon carbide with both chromium oxide and aluminum oxide as the additives giving electrical conductivity. CONSTITUTION:Silicon carbide is incorporated with both chromium oxide and aluminum oxide each of high oxidation resistance followed by calcining, thus giving the objective composite ceramic imparted with electrical conductivity without impairing the high oxidation resistance inherent in the silicon carbide. Also, regulation of the amounts of the additives to be incorporated will control the sinterability, leading to securing the mechanical strength of the present ceramic. The amounts to be incorporated are pref. 3-15 pts.wt. and 2-25 pts.wt. for the chromium oxide and aluminum oxide, respectively. |
