The control stage provides a control signal initiating transmission of a given time variable signal (s(t)). A difference circuit (11) receives the time variable signal (s(t)) and its min. (smin), to provide an intermediate signal, fed to a square root circuit (12) providing the control signal. Pref. the output of the difference circuit (11) is differentiated and fed via a polarity reversal switch (14) to a multiplier (15) for combining it with the output of the square root circuit (12). USE/ADVANTAGE - For ultrasonic, hydro-acoustic or material testing applications. No pre-tensioning or pre-magnetising required.
