TREATMENT OF HALOGEN-CONTAINING SYNTHETIC FIBER

PURPOSE:To exhibit corrosion inhibitory effects in manufacturing and processing facilities of halogen-containing synthetic fiber and to improve productivity by providing the fiber with an organic carboxylic acid salt and a guanine salt. CONSTITUTION:In extrusion process, drawing process or spinning process of halogen-containing synthetic fiber such as modacrylic fiber (A) 0.01-0.3wt.% alkali metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid (e.g. organic monocarboxylic acid or aliphatic polyfunctional carboxylic acid) and/or amine salt of organic carboxylic acid such as alkanolamine salt thereof and (B) 0.01-0.1wt.% inorganic salt or organic acid salt of guanidine is applied to the fiber. Excellent corrosion inhibitory effects are shown, a manufacturing process is facilitted, excellent processing characteristics are improved and productivity is bettered.
