Control circuit for precision drive motor

The connections (2-4) of a winding arrangement (1) are connected to current sources (11-14) via a commutation arrangement (5-8). Several current sources or groups of current soruces can be connected to the same winding arrangement connections simultaneously whilst being independently controllable. A first source or group of sources is used for acceleration and a second for braking. The groups contain complementary, opposite polarity partial current sources which can be simultaneously applied to different winding connections. The sources are connected to the winding arrangement via a commutation arrangement consisting of electronically controlled switches.
