<p>PURPOSE:To provide a recording and reproducing apparatus which becomes a thin shape when a tape cassette is not mounted with regard to the recording and reproducing apparatus using the tape cassette having the cassette cap. CONSTITUTION:A movable cap 18 is provided so that the cap 18 is lifted up to the outside of an external mounting part so as to cover a cassette cap. The movable cap 18 is provided at the external mounting part of a main body 11 of the apparatus in the vicinity of the cassette cap 14a of a mounted tape cassette 14. When the tape cassette is not mounted, the movable cap 18 of the external mounting part is not lifted up. When the tape cassette is mounted, the cassette cap is opened in association with the mounting. Furthermore, the movable cap 18 of the external mounting part of the main body of the apparatus is lifted up to the outside in association with the opening of the cassette cap.</p> |
