PURPOSE:To improve paper passing property and suppress generation of ozone in a transfer-separation part at the time of passing envelopes. CONSTITUTION:A duct 8, a fan 9, and a driving motor 10 are installed under the casing 2b of a transfer charger and air is sent to the inside of transfer- separation charger 2, 3 from the opening part of the casing 2b and the duct 8 as shown by an arrow. A CPU 11 drives and controls the motor 10 by a paper size detecting sensor 12 which detects that envelopes are passed and at the time of passing envelopes it stops the operation of a separation charger. And air goes out to the inside of a printer through a gap between the photoconductor 1 and the transfer-separation charger and pushes the flap of an envelope being passed during that time toward the direction to close it. As a result, each envelope is not hooked by a separation guide 7 and the casing 2b and transportation property of the envelope is improved. Also, the ozone generation amount is decreased. |
