One or more height-adjustable window panes, in the sides, pref. the doors. Each side edge of a pane has a pivoted retainer. When closed, the window pane is moved by a device towards the longitudinal centre of the vehicle, so an increased contact pressure on a seal is generated. The retainer is formed by a guide rail (7). A spring element (pressure spring 9) engages on the rail, to move the window pane (10). The vertical guide rails are held with their ends in a door window frame (6), accommodating the pane. The rails are pivoted about the edge of the door (4), by the pressure spring. ADVANTAGE - Simple and economical device to increase sealing pressure of pane on seal.
