PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a high-performance rare earth cobalt magnet having an excellent heat resistance by heat-treating an alloy as it is an ingot. CONSTITUTION:An Sm (Co0.68 Fe0.24Cu0.06Zr0.02)7.4 alloy is manufactured by arc melting. 200g of the obtained button-shaped ingot is kept at 1150 deg.C for four hours and then is quenched in water for homogenization. After that, the ingot is roughly smashed with a stamp mill or a disk mill and then is finely smashed with a jet mill. At that time, N2 gas is used as a smashing medium and the smashing grain size is 3.5mum (F.S.S.S). The obtained fine powder is lateral magnetic field molded in a magnetic field of 15koe. The obtained compact is sintered in vacuum at 1200 deg.C for an hour and then is solution-treated in an Ar air flow at 1160 deg.C for an hour. After the sintered compact is kept at 850 deg.C for five hours, it is cooled down to an ordinary temperature at the speed of 1 deg.C/min. By this method, a high-performance rare earth cobalt magnet having an excellent heat resistance can be obtained. |
