<p>PURPOSE:To detect a reliable motion vector by providing a mode to obtain a motion vector through the using of a chrominance component and a mode to obtain a motion vector through the use of a brightness component to the circuit and selecting either of the modes adaptively. CONSTITUTION:A current pircture data is inputted to an evaluation circuit 21, in which the block matching is judged by using a brightness component brightness component mode) or using a chrominance component (chrominance component mode) based on a data distribution of the current picture block data and from which the result is sent to an arithmetic operation circuit 22. The arithmetic operation circuit 22 inputs the current picture block and a block data of a preceding frame expected to be in matching and calculates an inter- block error by a prescribed evaluation function equation based on the result of the evaluation circuit 21 from the two block data. A motion vector is detected by selecting a least data from lots of error data of block matching calculated to the one current block and a vector at that time.</p> |
