The housing (2) has a pref. metallic sensor part (1) which can be screwed into a wall and has a cylindrical scale on its end facing the medium. The scale forms a gap-free membrane against the medium and is only open to the housing section. It contains electrical functional elements electrically insulated but in thermal contact with its internal wall. The sensor part is rotatably joined to the housing. The interiors of the sensor part and housing form a common interior chamber hermetically sealed w.r.t. the exterior. The electrical connection between the sensor part and housing is pref. rotatable through at least 340 deg. ADVANTAGE - Enables housing to be rotated after insertion of sensor part despite cable connections and electronic operating and display elements.
