The heat created under the covers by solar radiation, is removed, and discharged outside (3) of the space to be protected from the heat. Removal is by the use of e.g. air, which is passed through hollow spaces (2) under the covers (1). These have good heat conducting characteristics. The instruments concerned are manufactured form separate parts. Some parts carry webs, forming channels. The other parts are suitably fastened to these. The hollow spaces are formed by distance pieces, e.g. pegs, between upper and lower sections. USE/ADVANTAGE - In dashboards of motor vehicles. Reduces heating-up of instruments.
