The method of sound field analysis involves picking up the sound and noise using a multiple channel microphone arrangement and processing them. The two or more output signals of the microphone arrangement are broken up into individual signal components using a binaural processor. Each individual signal component is associated with a sound source. They are finally subjected to a separate psychoacoustic analysis. The sound field is picked up using a dual channel synthetic head measurement system with a transfer characteristic comparable to the human ear. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables measurement results corresp. to actual human hearing impression to be obtd. in situations where there are multiple sound sources or for single source in chamber, thus enabling realistic analysis.
