<p>A photocatalyst composition is provided for use in UV-curable epoxysilicone compositions, comprising by weight (A) a bis(aryl)iodonium salt photocatalyst or certain polyarylonium hexafluorometal or metalloid salts; and (B) a reactive diluent comprising an organic phenol, preferably, 4-dodecylphenol and preferably further comprising an epoxyfunctional organic compound, preferably, 1,2-epoxydodecane, wherein the weight ratio of 4-dodecylphenol:1,2-epoxydodecane is from about 9:1 to about 1:9, and also preferably further containing a photosensitizer. An ultraviolet-curable silicone composition comprising the photocatalyst composition described above and an epoxy-functional silicone polymer, as well as methods for providing improved iodonium photocatalyst compositions and epoxysilicone compositions using the reactive diluent, are also disclosed.</p> |
