PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material for use in high sensitivity X-ray photography suitable for a fluorescent sensitized paper contg. a terbium-activated rare earth compd., by adding silver halide grains reduced and sensitized during growth of silver halide grains, and a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photosensitive material contains silver halide grains reduced and sensitized during the growth of silver halide grains, and a compd. represented by formula I in which Z1, Z2 are each a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to complete a benzene ring; R1, R2 are each alkyl, allyl, or aryl; R3 is 2-6C sulfoalkyl; X(-) is an anion; n is 1 or 2, when a dye forms an intramolecular salt, n is 1. Said compd. of formula I is exemplified by compds., such as formulae II-IV. It is preferred to add a soln. of said compd. of formula I to the conating compsn. of the silver halide photosensitive material as a practicable addition method. |
